ITALIAN CHAMPIONS TOUR: a chance to improve
The Italian Champions Tour is the great new event in the show jumping season and consists of a new series for teams that from July to November will involve the whole of Italy from South to North, uniting the country in the name of sport. This is a winning idea that is not only entertaining for competitors but also for spectators and supporters, as proven by the success of the 2021 ICT’s inaugural leg’s success at Piazza di Siena during the Rome CSIO. There is already great interest in all legs scheduled.
«The Italian Champions Tour – says the ICT sports director Jacopo Bartalucci – has been organised with the idea of providing everyone, athletes, professionals, the young and amateurs, companies, stud farms, equestrian centres and organising committees, with an opportunity to start again and make progress. In this perspective, the joint participation of two leading companies in the sector such as Scuderia 1918 and Kep Italia, joining other prestigious brands such as Cavalleria Toscana, Grimaldi Lines, MAG and Goldspan already present at the Piazza di Siena Master Event with their respective teams, is recognition of the work done together with Fieracavalli and the Arezzo Equestrian Centre, the first to believe in and support this circuit. Furthermore, the presence of these brands in addition to adding value in terms of prestige and visibility to this initiative, is yet another stimulus to continue on this path, and, above all, provides tangible evidence that we have managed to convey values that are at the heart of the ICT, such as belonging, passion, teamwork and sustainability.»
One team, one philosophy
The leading riders in the team launched by Scuderia 1918 and Kep Italia for the Italian Champions Tour could only be young. This team, formed by Under 20, riders will be selected by experts on a meritocratic basis, a value that is at the very centre of the company philosophy of these two brands that have always been committed to the growth of equestrian disciplines. Thanks to the partnership between Scuderia 1918 and KEP Italia, six young riders will therefore experience a path of training as well as growth.
«We believe that in this sport the meritocratic aspect is not always considered a priority. With this project we wish to give six Italian young riders motivated by passion and willpower a chance to become members of our special team, offering them a unique experience,» said Emanuele Anchisi, the founder of Team Scuderia 1918 together with his wife Maria.
«We wish to offer these young riders a chance to experience training and growth both from a technical and emotional perspective. And why? So as to create a team based on the solid values of excellence, respect and team spirit and, in primis, a genuine passion for horses. Investing in the young means investing in the future of equestrianism at 360 degrees and there is no better way of achieving this than working with a partner who shares our same ideals in sport and in life» added Kep Italia’s founders Lelia Polini and Bianca Collet-Serret.
