Modern sport was born in a 19th century Britain characterised by the Industrial Revolution. From the very beginning sport was acknowledged as having an educational content that contributed to spreading it all over the world and in every shape and form. The cultural and social importance of sport continues to increase in modern times. Great sports champions are recognised all over the world and often become symbols of their countries, real heroes for the young and for children. Be it individual or for teams, sport represents a nation’s honour. The team of one’s heart leads to unity, sharing and brotherhood.
In all this, equestrianism assumes an exclusive, unique role, thanks to the presence of the horse, the undisputed leading player and centralising element of passion, emotions and moods, amazement and wonder. The horse exalts all the educational, cultural, ethical and emotional aspects of sport and therefore bringing the young and the very young, all those who love horses and those who don’t yet, into their extraordinary world becomes a mission.
Technological progress and the digital world nowadays present an opportunity for popularization and knowledge without borders; this allows millions of people to join new worlds in which a virtual experience becomes support for the real ones and allows them to play out their passion as leading players. It is thus that the Scuderia 1918 Community was created, a real fan club for horse lovers, the first Equestrian Metaverse created in cooperation with The Nemesis, a virtual platform that is revolutionising the world of digital entertainment. Scuderia 1918 is also launching its first equestrian FAN-TOKEN, the SCU1918, which will allow all fans to actively take part in the team’s life (see article on page 6).
«While the whole world evolves continuously, there is one thing, however, that does not change: it is the horse. Its nature remains intact and it is this that makes equestrianism inimitable. Horses allow us to discover a world of emotions, of relationships based on trust, on generosity, on good intentions, they allow us to get to know who we are and they make us better people. We must not miss this opportunity.»
