Every year Fieracavalli marks the moment at which the end of the year is approaching. It is a national and international key event. Furthermore, it is also an opportunity to take stock of the year we are leaving behind and start again with new suggestions and new ideas.
And what about the year to come? There are two major closely linked issues in the spotlight: horse welfare and sustainability, the ‘social licence’ addressed by the EEF’s president Theo Ploegmakers (interview on page 32).
Thanks to their partnership, these are subjects addressed in-depth by Scuderia 1918 and Fieracavalli in managing the Pala Volkswagen, taking practical, concrete action and starting with new synergies with ethologists and environmentalists (article on page 4).
In the meantime the FEI’s General Assembly is approaching (Cape Town, November 10th – 13th) when all the main issues involving our sport will be debated. Such decisions from above will affect the entire sector and at all levels too.
Cavalli & Cavalieri’s cover for Verona shows Simon Delestre and his extraordinary Cayman Jolly Jumper, a tribute to his double wins in the Jumping Verona World Cup Grand Prix with Hèrmes Ryan, 2015 and 2021, (interview on pag. 24).
And so we are off! Scuderia 1918 and Cavalli & Cavalieri look forward to seeing you all at Pavilion 7. An opportunity for everyone to meet and enjoy our sport together.
